Job Summary

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in expanding our product offerings. Must have experience in Solid Works, skilled in mathematical calculations, mechanical design, drawing creation and maintenance, attitude for winning. Experience in extruding polyurethanes, braiding stainless steel wire and coatings applications is a plus. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Over 5 years of relevant experience required.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide functional design of components or assemblies.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments on various projects, producing detailed and assembly drawings for fabrication as needed.
  • Develop innovative design techniques to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and/or tooling.
  • Take R&D projects from concept to market, determining appropriate process methods and recommending materials.
  • Manage prioritize projects effectively to consistently meet business needs.
  • Evaluate a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigate root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.
  • Generate new ideas, go beyond the status quo.
  • Estimate costs, production times, or staffing requirements for new designs.
  • Proficient with 3D modeling, preferably Solid Works.
  • Possesses direct experience in supporting manufacturing with the design and development of production equipment, tools and fixtures.
  • Collaborates effectively with others team members in the organization to achieve the required results timely.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining necessary procedures and records of Design & Development as required by the Quality Management System.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Complex Problem Solving – Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Mechanical Aptitude – Familiar with fabrication and assembly practices.
  • Decision Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Systems Analysis – Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Manufacturing Disciplines – BOMs, MRP, drawing structure, Lean methodology.
  • Equipment Selection – Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Product and Process Analysis – Defining product requirements to create a design that achieves product quality and specifications consistently.
  • Quality Management System (QMS) – Knowledgeable with QMS and ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Applications – Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
