Key Responsibilities- Work with internal teams and external packaging vendor partners to identify, validate, and implement value‑creation opportunities across packaging materials and processes
- Evaluate packaging materials to ensure they meet performance standards, comply with regulations, and work efficiently with manufacturing equipment; focus on innovative packaging solutions for new and existing products, emphasizing functionality, cost‑effectiveness, and sustainability
- Identify and leverage best‑in‑class packaging vendor partners by working with the S&OP team to understand supplier performance and expectations
- Analyze existing packaging processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing changes to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize for automated systems
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation to streamline packaging processes, improve efficiency, and reduce cost; conduct cost‑benefit analyses for proposed packaging and automation solutions
- Partner with the Packaging Sr. Manager and Operations leads to ensure proper implementation of automation processes and systems
- Work closely with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to integrate automated systems from concept to completion, including timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, procedures, and testing protocols for packaging materials and processes
- Diagnose and resolve issues with automated packaging equipment, packaging systems, and other automation technologies
- Research, validate, and commercialize innovative primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions to meet the needs of business units, retail partners, and consumers
- Must be very detail‑oriented, analytical, self‑motivated, and possess high drive and initiative
- Experience working with all levels of management and personnel both internally and externally; able to cultivate business relationships to help drive business across multiple cross‑functional teams
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to present clear concise results that drive action to numerous levels of management and internal customers
- Ability to set and manage multiple priorities, use good judgment, and demonstrate excellent problem‑solving skills
- Ability to travel domestically (20%) if needed
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Industrial, Computer, or Packaging Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience working in manufacturing/production sites; CPG product knowledge preferred
- Successful experience in an entrepreneurial environment is a plus
