Job Overview
This entry level Project Scientist I (Environmental Field-Testing Technician) position involves conducting air emissions testing for industrial clients. A candidate must be willing to work outdoors or in industrial environments on a teamwork-based approach as part of a test crew. The candidate must have the ability to travel on a weekly basis in a company vehicle, visiting customer sites to perform testing projects.
Travel is regional & within the state, requiring overnight hotel stay as needed. The environment will include the ability to work with heights on a platform, climbing smokestacks of varying heights (50ft-300ft). A candidate will support the basic aspects of a testing project including equipment preparation, deployment, staging/breakdown, sample collection and recovery.
Preferred candidates have a background in environmental response, sample collection, mechanical, construction, or electrical work. Experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe products/tools is desirable.
Responsibilities- Conduct on-site field testing & transport testing equipment to customer sites;
- Prepare testing equipment and perform quality assurance;
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites and in the office;
- Follow all test methods, procedures, and processes as trained for quality source testing;
- Apply mechanical and electrical skills while troubleshooting testing systems;
- Perform equipment preparation, deployment, staging/breakdown, and sampling.
- Physical requirements:
consistent standing/walking, bending, crouching, stooping, lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs, use of highly dexterous tools, distinguishing shades of color, working at elevated heights up to 300 ft, working outdoors in extreme temperatures. - Must be willing to work outdoors in industrial environments;

Pay range for this entry‑level role is $20–$22 per hour.
