About This RoleNorth Star Energy Services is seeking an experienced Sr. Civil Designer to support engineering and design activities for EPC and engineering projects based out of our Baton Rouge, Louisiana office.
What You'll Do- Create existing and finished grade surfaces using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading models and surface analysis.
- Interpret survey information to develop site and property boundaries and 3D existing grade surfaces.
- Utilize Civil 3D cut/fill tools to support earthwork analysis and design development.
- Follow project‑specific drafting standards and set up drawings using both model space and paper space.
- Export 3D grade models for use by other designers and Navisworks coordination teams.
- Produce 2D concrete foundation drawings with rebar details based on engineering sketches or verbal direction.
- Manage and organize drawings using xrefs and established file structures.
- Review and verify dimensions, text, and design accuracy against vendor drawings, surveys, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑time, and on‑budget design packages.
- Support structural modeling activities using CADWorx when needed (preferred).
- Degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or related field, preferred.
- 10+ years of experience creating grade surface models, plans, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience developing 3D grade surfaces compatible with Navisworks models.
- Ability to produce accurate civil construction drawings, details, and site development layouts.
- Strong understanding of AutoCAD xrefs, drawing setup, and file management best practices.
- CADWorx structural modeling experience, preferred.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and personal accountability for design quality.
