This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products.
To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will be the Fluids Test Lead in our Integration and Test (I&T) team, you will mentor, train, and lead other team members from test planning to execution. Working under the Vehicle I&T Director, you will have oversight and involvement in develop, lead and completing several fluid systems tests and operations for lunar spaceflight fluids systems.
You will share in the team’s impact of developing tests plans and procedures for vehicle operations and tests.
Your role includes the complete life cycle of the system from design to operation. You will develop these tests while ensuring personnel safety during hazardous tests, meeting or exceeding schedule deliverables, managing vehicle test risks, and collaborate with internal and external suppliers to ensure our test approach meets requirements and risk posture of the program. During test execution, this role would act as lead test engineer for a given test with overall responsibility for safety of the test, the crew and the vehicle.

** Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*** Develop and oversee cryogenic & pneumatic test planning (i.e. tanking tests/cryo shock, subsystem liquid/gas development testing, integrated vehicle proof & leak tests). Create and execute test procedures for fluids testing.
* Provide technical leadership and solve challenging problems in cryogenic & pneumatic systems.
* Mentor and train existing & new team members.
· Support in the Development of fluid system test standardization for Mk1 & Lunar
* Lead the test system life cycle from conceptual design to operation.
* Plan schedules, manage risks, and develop mitigation plans.
* Collaborate with suppliers in the design, build, and test of fluid test GSE systems.
** Minimum Qualifications
*** B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
* 8+ years of experience in fluids and mechanical systems/components.
* Strong understanding of cryogenic and propulsion fluid behavior.
* Experience with cryogenic & pneumatic aerospace systems for ground operations and flight. Expertise in LH2, LOX, GH2, and GOX applications for components like heat exchangers, pumps, turbo machinery, and/or combustors.
* Proven technical leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to build trust and contribute to Blue's culture of safety.
* Effective collaboration in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Excellent communication skills for interfacing with external entities.
** Preferred Qualifications
*** M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
* Systems Engineering experience (requirements, interface definition, management, verification).
* Experience with spacecraft/launch vehicle propulsion and cryogenic environments.
* Experience with the full life cycle of a cryogenic fluid system.
* Willingness to work on-site at Florida's Space Coast with occasional travel for testing.
* Experience working with 91-710 Range Safety requirements for compliance of fluid systems.
