Mechanical Engineer

Facility Solutions Group (FSG) is a St. Louis based engineering and construction management firm that specializes in MEP/FP systems for commercial buildings. We are seeking a mechanical engineer to be part of our team of professionals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in building systems design (HVAC/plumbing)
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT
• Experience with K-12, higher education, or municipal projects
• Familiarity with energy modeling and sustainable design
• Experience with VRF, VAV, hydronic, and packaged HVAC systems
• Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for new construction and renovation projects
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, ductwork and piping design
• Develop basis of design narratives and system selections
• Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes (IMC, IPC, IECC, ASHRAE, local codes)

• Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and fire protection disciplines
• Participate in design meetings, client reviews, and coordination calls
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for conformance with design intent
• Respond to contractor questions during construction

• Produce accurate, complete, and well-coordinated construction documents
• Perform internal quality control reviews

• Provide construction administration support including site visits, punch walks, and issue resolution
• Assist with system commissioning and close-out documentation as required
