What is the Opportunity?
The joint venture between Atkins Realis and Aecon has been awarded an Extended Services Master Services Agreement (ESMSA) with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for projects at the Pickering & Darlington Nuclear Generating Stations.
Duration – 16 months
The Project Coordinator Co‑op is a highly motivated self‑starter who will assist in various areas of the ESMSA project, depending on business requirements.
What You'll Do Here:
- Plan and implement an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and manpower requirements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of comprehensive work packages in cooperation with construction and engineering.
- Identify, report, and secure approval for deviations from the design documents as they occur and before release to construction.
- Provide assurance that construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs, and applicable procedures.
- Serve as the liaison between field trades and design engineers for problem resolution and information flow.
- Provide and ensure the effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and design engineers for problem resolution and information flow.
- Provide status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
- Establish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors, and suppliers supporting the project.
- Develop and write detailed work plans in cooperation with construction leads.
- Maintain high standards related to final product quality.
- Develop and maintain the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments of the project.
- Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.
- Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
- Coordinate activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Interface with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
- Assist and monitor safety programs and statistics as required.
- Actively involve in quality assurance with regard to understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
What You Bring To The Team:
- Post secondary education in a Mechanical or Civil Engineering discipline.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a large team.
- Organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi‑task. Service oriented.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
