Blue Origin is developing the next generation launch and space vehicle manufacturing facility on Florida’s Space Coast at our Orbital Launch Site Manufacturing Complex. We are in search of a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our New Glenn Stage 2 vehicle. You will work with innovative processes for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of manufacturing engineering.

Day to day responsibilities will include the Manufacturing Plan Development, managing all Work Order Authoring, and provide Mentoring and Career Path Development to your enrolled employees. We put a strong emphasis on design for manufacturing and hands-on technical ability, as our managers are directly involved with design, analysis, equipment operation, trouble-shooting, and active engagement with engineering.

** Responsibilities:
*** Enable the success of a team comprised of high-impact Manufacturing Engineers
* Provide mentoring, guidance, and support with engineers to develop goals, career paths, and ensure professional development
* Establish roles, responsibilities, and accountability for all team members
* Ensure workflow and priorities are balanced across the team
* Evaluate staffing requirements and grow the team by recruiting and hiring top performing manufacturing engineers (as needed)
* Coordinate and work closely with program managers, operations leaders, and Integrated Product Team Leads to meet design, build, and test objectives.
* Support the team in applying robust, consistent, and reliable engineering fundamentals and processes in support of fabrication processes
* Create required data gathering tools for tracking and improving the team performance
* Review and understand company wide processes and command media to ensure proper compliance
* Help your team define how to prepare hardware for test, qualification, and flight
* Promote DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test
* Engage in Manufacturing Bill of Material (BOM) creation and maintenance and Product Structure definition

* Qualifications:

*** Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university (Master of Science preferred)
* Experience managing people, projects, or programs
* Strong coordination, personnel, and project management skills
* Experience in hardware manufacturing (i.e. castings, forgings, additively manufactured components, welding, machining, cleaning, non-destructive testing methods, tight tolerance assembly, leak testing, final acceptance testing of integrated hardware, and Manufacturing Execution Systems/Software)
