Vice President of Product Engineering – Thermal/Cold‑Chain Packaging

Location: California – 5 days a week on site

Package: $200,000 - $250,000 + up to 20% short‑term bonus + significant LTI options + relocation assistance if required

• Architect custom thermal systems (liners, mailers, pre‑validated shippers, kits) from concept to qualification.
• Own all lab testing and data analysis to ISTA 7E/3A/Standard 20 (DQ/OQ/PQ); ensure profile tolerance, Pearson correlation, and documentation integrity.
• Partner with Sales & Account teams as the technical authority on client calls; translate requirements into engineered solutions and credible trade‑offs.
• Run day‑to‑day operations of the Thermal Eco‑Lab; prioritize projects, level resources, and manage timelines.
• Advance R&D in insulation architectures, phase‑change materials, and sustainable materials; pilot promising technologies with measured ROI.
• Work closely with board members and C‑Suite leaders.

• Must have thermal packaging engineering / cold chain solution design / temperature‑controlled systems experience (pharma, biotech, medical, or high‑spec F&B preferred).
• Deep command of heat transfer & applied thermodynamics; proven history designing systems that pass ISTA 7E/7D & real‑world live‑testing with crisp documentation.
• Hands‑on leadership of lab operations (chambers, probes, data loggers, calibration programs) and engineering teams.
• B.S. or higher in Mechanical/Packaging/Chemical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
