As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will work on designing and developing key structural ground systems for Blue Origin’s new launch site at LC-36 (Cape Canaveral, FL). You’ll have the unique opportunity to be part of a great team building the mechanical and structural systems and GSE (Ground Support Equipment) needed for Blue Origin’s giant rocket, New Glenn!

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. ** Responsibilities:
*** Develop structural design solutions for large structural/mechanical systems.
* Provide FEA and hand-calcs for complex steel structures.
* Manage external design and fabrication partners through complete project lifecycle, and oversee equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation.
*
* Qualifications:

*** Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or similar disciplines.
* 10+ years experience with a strong background in design/analysis/construction of large and complex steel structural systems (i.e. launch vehicle GSE, aerospace tooling, oil/gas structures, movable structures, steel bridges and platforms, etc).
* Experience in structural and mechanical analysis utilizing FEA tools (STAAD and ANSYS preferred).
* Experience designing and analyzing bolted and welded connections.
** Desired (not required):
*** PE license (Structural).
* Experience in STAAD/ANSYS.
* 2+ years direct GSE design and analysis experience.
* Experience reviewing analysis packages.
