ACCOMPANIST
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
2. Must be an accomplished pianist.
3. College work in the field of music preferred.
4. College work in the field of education would be helpful.
5. Experience as an accompanist preferred.
6. Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
REPORTS TO:
Vocal Music Coordinator and Mustic Instructor
JOB GOAL:
Provide keyboard accompaniment that will enhance the opportunity for vocal music students to improve their vocal music performance.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide keyboard accompaniment for choral ensemble classes offered at the middle and high school.
2. Prepare all music, including piano score, individual vocal parts and combined vocal parts prior to daily rehearsals.
3. Accompany ensemble performances for concerts, festivals, contests, and clinics.
4. Accompany solo and small ensemble groups for district and state contests.
5. Prepare rehearsal tapes for students.
6. Accompany rehearsals and performances for high school musicals, when needed.
7. Assist vocal directors with clerical responsibilities such as paper work, filing, music library, etc.
8. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
9. Adheres to good safety practices.
10. Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies.
11. Other duties as required or assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.
CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board Of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance Based Support Staff Evaluation process.
