- Develop and execute high‑impact and strategic communications and media relations plans for consumer audiences to build and advance brand awareness, visibility, and credibility. Translate business priorities and complex financial topics and insights into compelling and approachable narratives that resonate with consumers, clients, partners, and the broader marketplace.
- Serve as media relations strategist and spokesperson, cultivating relationships with personal finance reporters, business/market journalists, economic correspondents, new media voices, and broadcast producers to drive high‑impact coverage.
- Partner with and guide PR agencies, coordinating strategy, elevating execution, and ensuring agency output aligns with corporate priorities, brand standards, and measurable performance goals.
- Measure performance and drive continuous improvement, using analytics, media insights, and stakeholder feedback to optimize PR programs and enhance awareness, sentiment, and reputation.
- 8+ years of progressive PR and corporate communications experience, with a blend of in‑house and agency roles; financial services, consumer finance, and/or wealth/asset management experience strongly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience in media relations and message development; spokesperson experience strongly preferred.
- Compelling and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
- An agile, creative, and strategic approach to work, problem‑solving, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to deliver results under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market‑based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $136,000 - $181,400. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job‑related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
