As a Commercial Lender, you will be responsible for development and management of a commercial loan portfolio. This role involves identifying credit and deposit opportunities, analyzing financial data, and ensuring loans are structured to meet both the client’s needs and the bank’s risk standards. The Commercial Lender actively develops relationships with business owners, real estate investors, and professionals to drive portfolio growth and enhance the bank’s community presence.

Requirements

The position prospects for quality loan opportunities and generates and maintains a quality loan portfolio between two of our four bank branches, High Ridge, MO and Eureka, MO. The job functions are:

Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development & Relationship Management
  • Develop new commercial loan and deposit relationships through networking, calling programs, and referrals.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and identify additional banking opportunities.
  • Represent the bank at community, civic, and professional events to promote business banking services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.
Loan Origination & Credit Analysis
  • Evaluate borrower creditworthiness by analyzing financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and management capability.
  • Structure and recommend loan terms that balance client needs with sound credit principles.
  • Prepare and present loan proposals and credit packages for review and approval.
  • Coordinate with credit analyst and loan administration to ensure accurate documentation and timely loan closing.
Portfolio Management
  • Monitor assigned loan portfolio for credit quality, covenant compliance, and payment performance.
  • Conduct annual reviews, renewals, and site visits as required.
  • Identify potential risk issues early and work with management to implement solutions.
  • Maintain loan files and records consistent with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all lending activities comply with bank policy, loan authority limits, and federal regulations (OCC, FDIC, SBA, etc.).
  • Adhere to underwriting standards and participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Work closely with management to formulate strategic planning goals and objectives to grow the bank’s loan portfolio and net income while providing loan services to current customers and cultivating relationships with potential customers to drive loan growth.
  • Keep abreast of related industry and professional trends and products and services to ensure the current and future effectiveness and profitability of the bank’s services, policies, staff proficiency and processes as they relate to assigned areas of responsibilities.
  • Work towards and assist in the positive image and growth of the bank.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assigned.
  • Perform any additional duties and tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Sound knowledge of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
