Interim Controller

. We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide leadership and oversight of financial operations for a dynamic, mission-driven university.

• Oversee all financial functions, including GAAP financial reporting, month-end/year-end closings, audit preparation, tax filings (e.g., 990s), and external reporting.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, fund management, and investment accounting. Act as liaison to insurance companies and investment consultants.
• Partner with the VP of Administration and Finance to support treasury activities, including cash management and investment reporting.
• Prepare materials for Board Committees (Audit, Finance, Investment).
• Oversee departmental and institutional budgets.
• Serve as fiduciary and voting member of the Universitys Retirement Plans Committee.

• BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
• 5–10 years of progressive experience in financial management, reporting, and fund accounting. Controller-level experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, non-profit accounting, financial systems, and reporting tools. Experience with Colleague/Prophix and ADP a plus.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with diverse teams across multiple departments.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Salary range: $175,000 – $200,000 per year.
