Job Overview

Beacon Hill Financial is currently conducting a confidential search for a full‑time, direct hire Senior Accountant for our dynamic commercial real estate client in the South Bay. In this role you will be a key contributor to the financial integrity and operational success of the client’s real estate portfolio. The role requires a hands‑on accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is committed to delivering high‑quality financial insights and service to stakeholders including property managers, ownership groups, investors, and lending institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with the Assistant Controller and CFO to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate financial close cycles.
  • Drive the execution of departmental goals and support strategic financial initiatives across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards in the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline monthly and quarterly close timelines.
  • Lead the preparation and review of financial packages at the property, fund, and corporate levels, including detailed variance analyses.
  • Develop and maintain supporting schedules such as investment roll forwards, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Review and authorize key accounting entries, including allocations, management fees, and fund‑level adjustments.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow activity, ensuring adequate liquidity across operating and investment accounts.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to oversee CAM reconciliations, annual true‑ups, and tenant billbacks.
  • Compile and analyze investor reporting packages, including narrative commentary and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to recurring deliverables such as quarterly financial reports, annual budgets, audits, and lender/investor inquiries.
  • Serve as a financial liaison to internal departments and external partners, providing timely and accurate data to support decision‑making.
  • Uphold and enhance internal controls to safeguard financial reporting integrity.
  • Support the year‑end audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and coordination with external auditors.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the finance team and broader business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on commercial real estate operations and reporting.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with MRI Software or similar real estate accounting platforms is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
Desired Skills and Experience
