Mortgage Loan Officer

Pay Rate

$70k - $90k (estimate)

A reputable credit union in Orange County is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Consultant to drive home loan growth through seminars, community outreach, and strong referral partnerships with realtors, builders, financial planners, and other business sources.

In this highly member focused role, you will interview applicants, assist with loan applications, analyze credit qualifications, structure loans, and match members with the right mortgage products while ensuring compliance with federal and state lending regulations.

You will actively promote the credit union’s offerings, build and maintain productive relationships, and represent the organization at industry events, meetups, and home finance seminars to generate leads and close loans.

As a key liaison between applicants, real estate partners, and internal mortgage teams, you will support a smooth loan closing process, communicate proactively with members, and help guide each loan from application to funding.

This hybrid role allows you to work remotely two days per week, with the remaining three days spent onsite at our branches. The credit union operates 11 branches, supported by a team of eight Mortgage Loan Consultants who rotate among these locations.

• 2 years of relevant experience in home finance originations with strong, modern sales skills
• Proven ability to fund at least $2 million per month
• Successfully registered with the NMLS as a Mortgage Loan Originator
• Expert level knowledge of federal and state mortgage lending laws and regulations
• Proven ability to develop and deliver presentations and meet with real estate agents, businesses, and other referral partners
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Strong understanding of Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac guidelines (preferred)
• Experience with loan origination systems (LOS) and automated underwriting systems (AUS) (preferred)
