The Town of Brookline’s Department of Planning and Community Development is seeking a Community Preservation Planner to manage the Town’s Community Preservation Act (CPA) Program. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director for Regulatory Planning, this position plays a key role in coordinating CPA funding cycles, administering program finances, and supporting the Community Preservation Committee (CPC). The Planner will help ensure that CPA resources are distributed equitably across affordable housing, historic preservation, open space, and recreation priorities in Brookline.

• Coordinate CPA funding cycles and administer program finances.
• Support the Community Preservation Committee (CPC).
• Ensure equitable distribution of CPA resources across affordable housing, historic preservation, open space, and recreation priorities.
• Interpret architectural plans and evaluate project proposals.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders and prepare relevant documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or business/public administration and at least two years of experience in community preservation act, town planning, grant management, or related field.
• Master’s degree highly desirable or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Knowledge of CPA regulations and related fields such as affordable housing, open space planning, and historic preservation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with design or mapping software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or GIS preferred.
