Pay RangeThis position falls within a classification of ASSISTANT CHIEF with a base pay range of $10,569.00 – $13,674.00 per year. The starting pay for new State‑hired candidates will be the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, whichever is higher.

This role reports to the Assistant Region Chief and supports law‑enforcement functions in the Northern Region. For a full list of duties please see the submitted Duty Statement. The Deputy Chief will coordinate emergency responses, oversee operations staff, maintain safety standards, and contribute to policy implementation. Special Requirements- Medical clearance is required and must be obtained annually.
- Must be able to wear respiratory protection equipment such as SCBA.
- Valid driver’s license of the appropriate class issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s). General qualifications include a current state certification or equivalent experience in law‑enforcement leadership, knowledge of fire‑prevention operations, and proficiency in emergency‑management systems.
