Associate Governmental Program Analyst / Analyst II (Title change effective January 1, 2026)
Salary range: $6,031.00 – $7,547.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.
The Board of Barbering and Cosmetology is recruiting an Associate Governmental Program Analyst to evaluate applications for apprentice licenses and programs. The analyst will support the Board’s mission to protect consumers by ensuring licensing, examinations, inspections, and enforcement are conducted fairly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and process applications for apprentice licenses across the Board’s jurisdiction.
- Maintain an inclusive, safe, and secure work environment that values diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences.
- Provide equitable services to all members of the public and collaborate with underserved communities and tribal governments.
- Analyze complex issues, develop recommendations, and present findings to improve outcomes for Californians.
- Ensure compliance with Title 16 regulations and the Board’s conflicts of interest policy.

Special RequirementsConflict of Interest:
The incumbent must submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office, in accordance with the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Conflict of Interest Regulations.
