This position is located in Sacramento, CA. It is a 12‑month limited‑term position that may be extended or become permanent pending budget approval.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex Reasonable Accommodation (RA) work and serve as the Department’s RA consultant.
- Provide specialized consultative support, technical consultation, and guidance for complex RA requests.
- Review and develop program memorandums, reports, and resource documents.
- Log RA activities for data tracking, generate RA program reports, and assist with proposing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Train all applicable staff on the reasonable accommodation process and engage daily with all levels of Department personnel.
- Ensure timely completion of assignments, demonstrate initiative, problem‑solving skills, and good judgment.
- Self‑motivated, resourceful, with knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and legal precedents related to reasonable accommodations.
- Experience writing resource and policy documents and applying practices, procedures, and policies to support work and others.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, staying organized and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, equitable environment for employees with disabilities.
- Must be a California resident and able to work in California.
The incumbent will work in an office setting (up to 40 hours per week) and may also work in the community, events, or approved alternate locations. The role is hybrid, allowing telework in accordance with Government Code 14200 and department policy.
