Salary: $8,678.00 – $10,783.00 per month. New‑to‑state candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, if applicable.

Under the general direction of the Headquarters Office Chief for Airspace, the Senior Right of Way Agent (SRWA) in the Airspace and Wireless Leasing function serves as the Region/District Liaison. The SRWA provides guidance and assistance to Regions/Districts on functional issues with potential statewide impacts, participates in policy development and management of the Department’s Airspace and Wireless Leasing activities, and researches statutory requirements, tracks resources, and communicates data.

The SRWA must have excellent analytical, collaborative, and performance‑management skills and work well under tight deadlines.

Working Conditions

Position located at: 1120 N Street, Sacramento, Sacramento County.

This is a limited‑term position that may be extended to 24 months or become permanent. Working temperature ranges from 64 to 84°F under artificial lighting.

Minimum Requirements
  • Eligibility may be determined by score on the Senior Right of Way Agent exam.
  • Applicants who are not currently eligible (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotion) must be on the state examination list.
  • New‑to‑state civil‑services candidates must be on the state exam list.
  • Possession of a Driver’s License is required when operating a state‑owned or leased vehicle.
  • Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) – 2 pages maximum, 12‑point font. Failure to submit SOQ will disqualify the candidate.
  • The SOQ must describe:
    1) experience developing standards and guidelines for work‑related functions, and
    2) knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to Property Management for Caltrans properties.
