Job Description and DutiesThis position is available in both Shasta County and Sacramento County. Applicants for the Sacramento County location may apply to JC 504294.

- In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP 2025); the position is subject to a 3% monthly base‑pay reduction in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
- If using education to meet minimum qualifications, provide transcripts showing completion of at least 12 semester units or 18 quarter units in forestry, fire science, natural resource management, conservation, or a closely related subject.
- Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) clearance is required prior to hiring. The incumbent may be required to wear respirator equipment, including self‑contained breathing apparatus (SCBA); annual medical clearance and fitness testing are required.
