The Cochlear Implant Audiologist is responsible for independent evaluation, diagnosis, and interpretation of hearing disorders. The Audiologist will provide cochlear implant evaluations, assessments, and programming/rehabilitation for new implant candidates and previous recipients. The Audiologist will counsel patients and their family members regarding test results and will review options that best meet their hearing care needs. In addition, the Audiologist will administer diagnostic tests for patients outside of the cochlear implant program.
RequiredSkills And Experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population. Demonstrates experience successfully managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to administer and interpret the full range of audiological tests from comprehensive audiometric evaluation, immittance measures, otoacoustic measures, electrophysiological measures for differentiation of conductive, cochlear, neural hearing loss, and pseudohypoacusis.
- Ability to provide audio logic treatment including hearing aid and cochlear implant candidacy determination; fitting, verifying and validating amplification systems; patient and family counseling, and communication with other care‑providers for patients.
