Base Pay Range$90.00 /hr – $110.00 /hr
Job Description SummaryThe speech‑language pathologist is responsible for implementation of standards of care for speech‑language pathology services and for adherence to all conditions in the Service Agreement.
Responsibilities- Conduct appropriate evaluations and assess the home environment (as appropriate). Identify equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
- Identify functional speech defects and establish a plan of care to improve patient’s function.
- Administer speech‑therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques and/or equipment.
- Recommend communication devices/aids as indicated.
- Confere with the referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care and contribute to the total plan of care.
- Participate in case conferences, in‑services and other meetings as required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Prepare and submit notes per organization policy.
- Maintain clinical competency in speech‑language pathology practice and theory.
- Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refer as appropriate.
- Instruct patient, family/caregiver, and other health‑care personnel in the patient’s treatment regime as indicated.
- May supervise home‑health aide in procedures directly related to the speech‑language therapy plan of care.
- Perform other duties as required to facilitate the delivery of speech‑language pathology services.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in speech‑language pathology (SLP), and meet one of the following:
- Licensed as a speech‑language pathologist by the state in which you furnish services; or
- State does not license SLPs:
Completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or in the process of accumulating such experience) - Performed not less than 9 months of supervised full‑time SLP services after obtaining a master’s or doctoral degree in SLP or a related field, and successfully completed an approved national examination in SLP.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in speech‑language pathology.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license with a vehicle that is in good working order and insured in accordance with organizational requirements.
- Ability to sit occasionally for 1–3 hours.
- Ability to frequently stand for 3–6 hours.
- Ability to occasionally drive / operate foot control for 1–3 hours.
- Ability to walk occasionally on level surface for 1–3 hours.
- Ability to walk intermittently on unlevel surface for less than one hour.
- Ability to intermittently bend or climb for less than one hour.
- Ability to occasionally twist, kneel, crouch, and crawl for 1–3 hours.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds intermittently in less than one hour.
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than one hour.
- Ability to push up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than one hour.
- Ability to pull up to 50 pounds intermittently in less than one hour.
- Maintains current and valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage at all times.
