SUMMARY: Responsible for instruction of all individuals with diabetes and their families in all aspects of diabetes and its treatment as it pertains to that individual. Teaching is done with consideration to patient’s age, sex, and cultural and religious beliefs, which may affect the education process and compliance. Also responsible for developing and advising diabetes related policies within RMC.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Hours: 8:30am-5pm
QualificationsEDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Five years’ experience as a staff nurse and two years’ experience in patient education required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: Current California RN license, Diabetes Educator Certification, and Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association certification required.
