**** Registered Nurse (RN) – Primary Care (Smithville)
**** BJC Health Care / Saint Luke’s Health System
** is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Primary Care team in Smithville, MO. This role is essential in providing high-quality professional nursing care, coordinating patient services, and ensuring seamless clinic operations.
** Position Overview
** The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive clinical care in accordance with established medical standards. This position is heavily focused on telephone triage and patient coordination, requiring a clinician who can balance autonomous decision-making with collaborative teamwork.
** Key Responsibilities**
* ** Clinical Care & Triage:
** Manage high-volume telephone triage for multiple providers; assess patient needs, provide clinical advice, and schedule emergent appointments.
* ** Patient Coordination:
** Oversee patient flow and care coordination; perform IV insertions and administer medications as prescribed.
* ** Leadership & Delegation:
** Serve as a subject matter expert for patient education and assessment. Delegate tasks to clinical staff based on competency and scope of practice.
* ** Administrative Excellence:
** Accurately document patient care, enter admission orders as directed by providers, and manage clinical inventory (e.g., monitoring expired samples).
* ** Cross-Functional Support:
** Maintain a professional demeanor while providing exceptional customer service. Flexibly support the clinic by performing MA or LPN duties as operational needs require.
** Schedule
* ** Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
** Qualifications**
* ** Licensure:
** Dual RN licensure in Missouri and Kansas is required. (Candidates without dual licensure at the time of offer must obtain the second license within 90 days of hire).
* ** Certification:
** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
* ** Experience Preference:
** Minimum of one year of nursing experience is preferred.
