Assists providers with patient care and follow-up by providing direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients, and assisting providers with physical exams and treatments. Additional duties include charting, clerical work, managing phone prescriptions and refills, and performing triage for patient calls to identify emergent and non-emergent situations per policy. Opportunities to perform injections and specific infusions under provider and RN supervision are available.

• Carry out nursing procedures including medication administration and treatment adherence to standards and policies.
• Complete orientation and competency checklists.
• Obtain and record patient health histories, physical assessments, and collect specimens for lab analysis.
• Provide basic patient care, administer medications, assist with exams and procedures, and maintain infection control and confidentiality.
• Document assessments, interventions, responses, medication dispensing, and test results in medical records, and complete billing as necessary.
• Answer and manage incoming phone calls, returning messages as per policy.
• Promote wellness through patient education and communication of provider instructions.
• Maintain clinic cleanliness and stock levels, disinfect rooms, and dispose of waste properly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an approved practical nursing program.

Experience:

At least one year of LPN experience; clinic experience preferred.

Other: LPN license in Missouri.
