The SWIFT Clinician is a new role within the Student Well‑Being, Intervention, and Follow‑Through (SWIFT) department, part of the Mental Health Initiatives team in the Division of Health Well‑Being and Safety (HWS). This position provides clinical intervention, assessment, education and prevention for a wide range of mental health challenges students may experience. The SWIFT Clinician will provide professional mental‑health crisis assessment, treatment/intervention, and prevention services in support of UC Riverside’s commitment to re‑envisioning campus safety and policing towards a welcoming, service‑oriented, community‑centric campus.
The incumbent will promote a campus culture that emphasizes fair, collaborative, and trusting community relationships and respectful and humane methods for mental‑health and campus safety. The incumbent must be a skilled professional who is multicultural‑proficient/affirming, has experience with trauma‑informed care, and demonstrates experience in providing crisis intervention services. The role requires responding to crisis situations and delivering both on‑site and off‑site immediate and personalized interventions within a framework of inclusion, excellence, and social justice.
Services provided outdoors campus will be in a co‑response model with the Campus Safety Responder (CSR) team member. The incumbent will help students navigate resources on‑ and off‑campus and support those with post‑hospitalization or discharge from psychiatric hospitals. Work hours are non‑traditional, from 11 AM to 8 PM.
The salary range for the SWIFT Clinician is $78,700.00–$ annually; the expected pay scale is up to $ annually. Candidates must have current work authorization; the university cannot sponsor visas.
Requirements- Education: Master’s degree in a related area;
Masters or Doctorate in Psychology or another behavioral‑health discipline. - Experience: 6–10 years of related experience; demonstrated commitment and experience in trauma‑informed and diversity, equity, and inclusive care; experience providing mental‑health crisis assessments; experience providing multicultural‑proficient/affirming clinical care; experience working in a university or college setting.
- Preferred: deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion; trauma‑informed care; assessment of mental‑health risk/suicidality; advanced ability to evaluate therapeutic progress; communication, program development, legal/ethical knowledge, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of electronic medical record systems for maintaining clinical records.
