American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery role requiring a MO or compact license and strong LDRP skills.
Job Details
• Position is based in an acute care community hospital on a Labor & Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit,
• Patient ratios are typically 1:1 to 1:3,
• Work includes care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and Level I Nursery settings,
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15,
• Weekend rotation includes 4-6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) and 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule,
• Mandatory holiday coverage includes 1 major holiday and 1-2 minor holidays per contract,
• On-call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule period,
• Floating may be required within the LDRP and between departments or facilities as needed,
• Unit handles vaginal births, C-sections, gynecology surgeries, postpartum care, and antenatal testing,
• Epic experience required for charting,
Job Requirements
• Active MO or compact RN license in hand at time of application,
• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required,
• At least 1 year of specialty L&D experience within the past 12 months; no gap longer than 90 days in the past year,
• Current BLS, FHM, and NRP certifications required,
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certifications preferred,
• Proficiency in IV therapy, blood product administration, L&D management (including c-section circulation), and neonatal care required,
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record required,
• Must provide two recent professional references (one from a supervisor),
• Cannot reside within 75 miles of the facility,
• No first-time travelers accepted,
Additional Information
• Will provide couplet care and triage obstetrical patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum,
• Will assist with high-risk deliveries, c-sections, gynecology surgeries, and newborn care procedures,
• Required to support baby-friendly protocols and provide lactation and discharge education to parents,
• Must follow navy scrub dress code (scrubs provided),
• Free parking available onsite,
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment,
• RTO (requested time off) limited to 7 days for the contract,
• Modules and training are required before and possibly during assignment,
• Negative drug screening is required; candidates with an unresolvable issue may reapply after 6 months,
