Job Summary:
Pleasant View is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise and patient-centered approach will contribute to the overall well-being and quality of life of our patients.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, patient history, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals
- Implement evidence-based therapy techniques and interventions to enhance patients' communication and swallowing skills
- Monitor and document patients' progress towards meeting therapy goals and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, communication strategies, and home exercises to facilitate continuous improvement
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Stay updated with the latest research and developments in speech therapy and evidence-based practices
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and guidelines pertaining to speech therapy services
- Participate in team meetings, conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills
- Master's degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist is highly desired
- Knowledge of and expertise in evaluating and treating a variety of communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to determine appropriate therapy strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-based setting
- Proficient computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes
The Speech Language Pathologist will primarily work in a clinical setting, serving both inpatients and outpatients. The position may require working some evenings or weekends based on patient and departmental needs.
