Overview:Histotechnician assists with the accurate and timely preparation of tissue and bodily fluid specimens. Receives and prepares tissue specimens for routine microscopic examination and diagnosis by Pathologists. Histotechnician works semi-independently under the direction of a Histotechnologist and/or supervisor to complete tasks. Professional judgment is exercised to ascertain the validity of procedures and materials.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources. Responsibilities:
- Performs routine and moderately complex Histological procedures in the Laboratory with minimal supervision through the use of standard operating procedures and defined safety practices. Receives and evaluates specimens to assign tracking details and assess acceptability of samples.
- Assists Histotechnologists with preparing solutions for various staining procedures, ensuring an adequate inventory of supplies and reagents necessary to perform routine and special procedures
- Performs continuous quality assurance activities in line with best practices and safety standards.
- Associate's Degree or minimum 60 college hours and 1-2 years experience Laboratory experience that enables ability to perform essential job functions. or
- Certified Histotechnician
- Employees must obtain Certified Histotechnician or equivalent within 548 days
- HT Certified Histotechnician within 18 months Required
