$40.00/hr - $50.00/hr

The HRIS Specialist is responsible for providing expert support and management across a wide range of human resources functions. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our human resources information systems and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong background in both HR technology and payroll administration, along with expertise in platforms like ADP, to ensure data integrity and compliance.

This is a contract-to-hire position, offering the opportunity for a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

Essential Duties and Main Functions
  • HRIS & Payroll Management
  • HRIS Administration & Configuration:
    Serve as the primary administrator for the company's HRIS (e.g., ADP Workforce Now). This includes managing system configurations, maintaining user access, and ensuring the integrity of all employee data. Assist in other HR system configurations as needed to support various HR functions, such as performance management, benefits, and recruiting.
  • Data Integrity & Audits:
    Conduct regular audits of HR data within the system to ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality. Prepare data and materials for internal and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    Generate and analyze a variety of HR and payroll reports to support financial audits, compliance requirements, and business decisions. Use data to identify trends, improve processes, and provide valuable insights to management.
  • Employee Support & Compliance
  • Technical Support:
    Act as the first point of contact for employee and HR team inquiries related to HRIS, payroll, and benefits. Troubleshoot system issues, provide training to end-users, and develop user guides to enhance system knowledge.
  • Compliance:
    Stay up-to-date with all relevant payroll and HR laws and regulations. Ensure all system configurations and payroll processes adhere to legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Process Improvement:
    Continuously evaluate and improve HR and payroll processes through the use of technology. Lead or assist in the planning and implementation of new HRIS modules, system upgrades, and integrations with other business systems.
  • General HR Support:
    Serve as the SME for various specialty areas for HR. Work closely with managers and employees, and maintain related forms, documents, and records. Lead related training and communications.
  • Employee Relations:
    Provide coaching and consultation to the employee population and respond to inquiries as necessary while providing excellent service.
  • Documentation & Training:
    Develop and maintain written HR Instructions for the various tasks and responsibilities of HR. Use to train, cross-train, and coach team members.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time based on business need.
Qualifications
Education / Certification / Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, information systems, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as ADP Specialist, PHR, or SHRM-CP are preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a HRIS role.
  • Proven expertise in administering HRIS and payroll platform ADP Workforce Now.
  • Level and compensation depend on location, experience, education and skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, practices and regulations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally through effective listening, speaking and writing skills. Articulate; writes clear and concise instructions, policies and on-going communications with employees. Able to speak and present information in front of employee groups.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll principles, accounting practices, and tax laws.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and other data analysis tools.
