Reporting to the Senior Benefits Manager, the Benefits Analyst will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of Blue Shield of California’s high-profile benefit programs throughout the year. This role collaborates closely with the Senior Benefits Manager and Director to execute the Total Rewards Roadmap and works alongside two other Benefits Analysts on the Total Rewards team to ensure seamless operation of new and existing programs.
We are seeking a passionate benefits professional eager to make a meaningful impact on Blue Shield’s Total Rewards Programs.
Responsibilities:
- Audit and reconcile vendor invoices for all Total Rewards programs to ensure accurate payment.
- Perform monthly benefit audits and reviews as needed.
- Assist in all aspects of employee benefits program administration, including ongoing review of policies and procedures for health and welfare programs.
- Support monitoring, reviewing, auditing, and reporting on vendor practices, performance, and activities.
- Provide support to Senior Benefits Analysts in researching and analyzing benefits-related issues and challenges.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the HR call center, interpreting benefit plan policies and resolving employee escalations.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of benefits-related data.
- Assist with vendor contract renewals.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent experience with 3+ years in benefits and retirement-related roles. - Passion for inclusion, diversity, and accessibility, particularly in employee programs and company policies.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory and compliance laws is a plus.
- High-energy, engaged team player excited to lead processes and quickly adapt to new responsibilities.
- Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience in program and process management.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with proficiency in Excel required.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and good judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for clear understanding.
