This posting is for a full-time, 12-month, unclassified, in-person staff position located on‑site at our Bossier Campus. Salary commensurate with credentials and experience.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in related field. or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
- Three (3) years of work experience in human resources.
- Knowledge of HRIS functions, practices of human resources and applicable state and federal laws.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
- One year work experience in higher education preferred.
- One year work experience in payroll preferred.
- Knowledge of HR information system, Microsoft products and data input preferred.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Must have use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear and handle or feel objects and controls.
- Must have physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must be capable of sitting in stationary position for 50% or more of time.

ResponsibilitiesThis position assumes responsibility for the department in the absence of the Director in employee matters, questions referred to Human Resources and information related to employment. This position is responsible for daily HR functions to include, but not limited to, coordinating all aspects of employment for unclassified, classified, student worker and WeStaff temporary workers, providing verification, backup and assistance in payroll process, managing HR training and reporting, managing I-9 forms and compliance, coordinating Worker’s Comp reports/records, serving as CPTP coordinator, and maintenance of the onboarding platform.
- Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the Director in employee matters, questions referred to Human Resources and information related to employment.
- Participate in interviews and hiring process based on the policy.
- Prepare information into HCMS (ISIS), the HRS (Banner) system, appropriate retirement systems and appropriate health system for all personnel items related to employees as needed.
- Prepare PAF paperwork for personnel actions related to new hire, termination, promotion, merits, and any other related personnel actions for employees as needed.
- Manage the hiring process for employees to ensure positions are posted, reviewing the applications, and closing out the position.
- Backup and assistance in payroll process to ensure completion of accurate and timely payroll bi-weekly.
- Maintain compliance with Civil Service Rules related to data integrity in HCMS.
- Participate in new employee orientation by explaining tax forms, other necessary paperwork, benefits and employee handbook to new unclassified employees in conjunction with HR staff.
- Responsible for coordinating New Employee Orientation sessions for incoming faculty in Fall and Spring semesters.
- Direct, maintain and monitor performance evaluation system and reports results to Civil Service.
- Maintain SACS compliancy regarding employee transcripts and job descriptions.
- Serve on college faculty/staff committees.
- Act as liaison between various insurance providers, the state, and the employees as needed.
- Monitor contract application system and verify contract entry after bulk upload into Banner system.
- Manage Worker’s Comp reports and assist with documents for ORM annual audit.
- Responsible for providing documentation for Equal Opportunity Employment reports, state and civil service documents and other reports as needed.
- Travel to campuses as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
