, a global leader in computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for over 25 years. We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator Engineer to support our client's Software Infrastructure and Operations team. This is a W-2 full-time,
contract role based in Santa Clara, CA
. We offer competitive pay $80 - $110/hr based on factors such as experience, education, location, etc., and provide full benefits, PTO, and a strong company culture.

The position will be part of a fast-paced crew that develops and maintains complex IaaS/PaaS, building environments on platforms including MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Mongo

DB. We are looking for a candidate with background of around 10+ years in MySQL Database Administration to manage our client's build and test platforms. Responsibilities will include provisioning, maintaining existing DB infrastructure, enhancement, and working on issues with the application development and operations team.

• Provision MySQL instances: standalone, replication, cluster, HA configurations.
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
• Handle backup and recovery procedures.
• Perform general technical troubleshooting and give consultation to development/operations team.
• Maintain integrity of databases across multiple instances according to agreed policies.
• Support production & preproduction deployment and troubleshooting.
• Prepare documentation and specifications.
• Handle critical database procedures such as upgrade, recovery, migration, performance tuning, etc.
• Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
• Write shell/Python scripts.
• Monitor DB infrastructure and perform performance tuning (server level, query level) as required.
• Have general understanding and experience with NDB Cluster, InnoDB Cluster, etc.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

• 10+ years of experience in DBA activities.
• Strong exposure in cloud technologies – OCI, MySQL Heatwave, AWS RDS, etc.
• Strong proficiency in MySQL, Elasticsearch database management.
• Decent experience with recent versions of MySQL (5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8.0,
  9) on-prem and cloud.
• Hands‑on experience with OCI, MySQL Heatwave, AWS, etc.
• Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines.
• Experience with InnoDB Cluster, HA, replication configuration in MySQL.
• Experience with DB monitoring tools such as MySQL Enterprise, Datadog, Prometheus.
• Knowledge of best practices in MySQL.
• Proficient in Unix or Python shell scripting.
• Optimizing SQL statements.
• Knowledge of MySQL features.
• Familiarity with another SQL/No

  SQL.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible.
• Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds relative to other relational databases.
