This leadership role oversees an initiative to transition and modernize middle office systems and operational functions within a large financial organization. The position is accountable for shaping the strategy, driving execution, and delivering on objectives that span technology enablement, process redesign, and operational alignment.

The manager is responsible for creating and maintaining detailed roadmaps, cost frameworks, and resource allocations to guide a complex migration effort. Success in this role requires continuous interaction with a wide network of internal teams—operations units, engineering groups, and governance offices—as well as with long‑standing external service providers and consulting specialists. The remit includes defining and refining scope, clarifying deliverables, and ensuring cross‑functional understanding of the initiative’s priorities.

A significant part of the function is risk management—proactively identifying gaps, foreseeing obstacles, and ensuring early intervention to keep the program on schedule. Regular reporting to senior sponsors is expected, with clear updates on progress, challenges, and decision points. Beyond oversight, the role emphasizes cultivating a mindset of improvement, encouraging automation and new capabilities, and supporting the team through upskilling and adoption of innovative approaches.

Because the environment is large and globally distributed, influencing stakeholders is critical. Building rapport with decision‑makers, negotiating competing priorities, and integrating external experts into the internal structure are ongoing responsibilities.

Experience and Skills Profile

The position calls for over ten years of proven leadership on large‑scale initiatives in asset management or comparable industries. A solid background in middle‑office operations—such as trade support, reconciliation, and process optimization—is essential. Demonstrated success in system upgrades, vendor transitions, or technology implementations is highly valued.

The role requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills, comfort working across functions and regions, and the ability to navigate competing priorities. Mastery of program management methods, analytical thinking, and data‑driven decision‑making are critical. Familiarity with relevant platforms, emerging tools, and vendor engagement practices further supports success in this position. PMP designation and MBA are a plus
