AI Engineer, Data Science Manager
We’re empowering people to choose how they hear the world with the next generation of earplugs. You in?
And that’s kinda the point. We’re not here to build just another startup story. We’re here to change how the world hears itself, and to do it at full volume. In just five years, we turned earplugs from niche to necessity, growing from zero to €190m revenue and 250+ people. We hit profitability early, which means we don’t wait for permission, we play bold, independent, and all‑in.
Now we’re becoming a truly AI‑first company, where human creativity and machine intelligence fuel every decision. And we need a Director of AI & Data to lead that shift. You’ll build the backbone that makes this transformation possible, deliver flagship projects that show what AI‑first looks like in practice, and help every team at Loop level up their AI fluency.
A Career Move That Makes SenseAs Director of AI & Data, you’ll be the connector between vision and execution. You’ll lead our Data and AI Engineering teams, designing the architecture that keeps Loop scalable, reliable, and future‑ready. You’ll pilot ambitious prototypes in domains like Marketing and Finance, turning bold ideas into tangible results that inspire the rest of the company. And you’ll make AI practical for everyone: giving teams the tools, trust, and guidance to experiment safely and work smarter every day.
What that looks like in practice:
- Leading and coaching our Data & AI Engineering teams
- Building the backbone: scalable, AI‑native data infrastructure
- Turning high‑impact ideas into working prototypes and lighthouse projects
- Empowering every team to use AI safely and effectively, without tool chaos
- Acting as the bridge between technical depth and business impact
You’ll report to our VP Technology, but your real reach will be across the whole company. You’ll work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with our executive team to shape AI priorities, partner with leaders in Marketing and Finance to weave intelligence into their daily flow, and guide your own engineering teams to deliver with pace and purpose. This role puts you at the crossroads, where people, strategy, and technology meet.
What You Need To Succeed As Director Of AI & DataWe’re looking for a leader who can turn ambition into architecture and strategy into results. Someone who has scaled AI/Data Engineering teams, built the backbone for growth, and embedded AI into the way a business actually runs. Above all, someone with the mindset of a winner: curious, committed, and ready to go all in.
- Proven leadership of AI/Data Engineering teams
- Track record of building scalable, reliable data infrastructure
- Experience embedding AI into business‑critical processes
- Sharp eye for emerging tools, with the judgment to scale what works
- Strong communication and influence with executive stakeholders
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to polish processes or stay behind the scenes. It’s for a builder who thrives on curiosity and commitment, and who knows that intelligence only matters when it connects people, strategy, and impact.
