The DMV is seeking an experienced IT Systems & Software Engineering Manager to lead system administration, software engineering, and client services across a complex and highly visible technology landscape.
In this pivotal role, you will guide a talented technical team, oversee enterprise and cloud applications, and serve as a technical project manager for major IT initiatives that directly support DMV’s mission.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic managerial and technical leadership for System and Software Engineering and Client Services.
- Ensure reliable 24x7 operation of critical infrastructure and applications.
- Oversee DMV Enterprise Applications, SaaS platforms, and cloud-based technologies.
- Act as Technical Project Manager for new application deployments and system integrations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technology professionals responsible for application support, maintenance, and enhancements.
- Coordinate support, maintenance, and deployment of systems within the Information Systems Division.
- Drive operational excellence through best practices, security standards, and continuous improvement.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities paired with excellent relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Proven ability to quickly diagnose and resolve production issues in high‑availability environments.
- Experience reporting technical status and resolutions to executive leadership with transparency and clarity.
- Thrives in fast‑paced environments while fostering strong partnerships with customers and colleagues.
