Location: Maryland Heights

Description Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Products Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO. This role follows a hybrid work schedule, 4 days in office/1 day remote.

Summary:

The Data Products Team builds and certifies the data products that power outage management/reliability reporting. We own the full lifecycle;
From raw source feeds through validated, stakeholder-ready outputs. This role is needed for expanding the team to keep pace with demand. This is a hands-on role. The candidate will build and maintain ETL pipelines, write validation logic, monitor daily data quality, and help deliver versioned data product releases to BI and operational stakeholders. They'll work closely with teams across the full delivery cycle.

Key Tasks:
* Building and maintaining ETL pipelines in AWS Glue, Spark, and Athena that process modem-level telemetry, outage events, and customer impact data at scale
* Writing & owning daily data quality checks (scripted SQL validations, threshold alerting, row-count monitoring) and contributing to ensuring a certification process before data goes to stakeholders
* Supporting versioned data product releases: authoring test cases and release notes, coordinating go/no-go decisions with end users, and managing patches through a structured release process
* Integrating data across multiple upstream source systems (AOM, IPDR, Scope, CARS, IRIS, Gisual) to produce unified, stakeholder-ready outputs
* Investigating data anomalies (nulls, duplicates, missing intervals, unexpected distributions) and resolving them before downstream impactRequirements
* Strong SQL - window functions (LAG, PARTITION BY), grouping sets, null handling, Athena-specific patterns
* Python for scripting, automation, and data validation
* AWS data stack experience:
Glue, Athena, S3, EMR, Step Functions
* Spark for large-scale data processing on EMR
* Comfort owning data quality;
Not just running checks, but understanding why they matter and knowing when something looks wrong
* Good written communication: the resource will be coordinating with teammates and documenting methodology clearly

Nice to Have:
* Experience with telecom or network operations data (modem telemetry, outage records, IPDR-style feeds)
