POSITION SUMMARY:

Focus Interpreting is seeking a highly skilled English to Hmong Simultaneous Interpreter to join our team. In this role, you will provide real-time interpretation services during meetings, conferences, and events, ensuring effective communication for participants who speak English and Hmong.

• Facilitate seamless communication between English and Hmong speakers through simultaneous interpretation in various settings.
• Utilize appropriate interpretation equipment to deliver high-quality and articulate interpretations under pressure.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards at all times during interpretation sessions.
• Prepare for assignments by researching relevant topics, terminology, and understanding the specific needs of the clients involved.
• Commit to ongoing professional development to improve language skills and interpreting techniques.

• Fluency in both English and Hmong, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages.
• Proven experience in simultaneous interpretation, with a strong grasp of the techniques required for effective real-time communication.
• Ability to navigate cultural nuances and provide accurate interpretations that respect both languages.
• Exceptional listening and analytical skills to ensure precise communication between parties.
• Prior experience in a professional interpreting role is highly preferred.
