About the RoleArent Fox Schiff LLP is seeking a patent prosecution professional (patent agent or attorney) with three-plus years of experience to join our highly regarded team in our Los Angeles or San Francisco offices. Experience in wireless telecommunications including 5G/6G technologies and WiFi is required. Additional experience with power devices, analog circuits, medical devices, software, mechanical devices, and 3D‑printing is a plus.
A degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Intellectual curiosity, excellent academic credentials, and experience in drafting and prosecuting U.S. and worldwide applications are required. Additional requirements include strong organizational and writing skills and a desire to excel in a large law firm environment. This is a client‑facing position in which the candidate will work directly with inventors and scientists, so strong oral communication skills are necessary.
The position comes with responsibility and independence but also features appropriate training and oversight. Membership in the Patent Bar is required. Familiarity with patent databases and search tools is highly desirable as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $150,000 to a maximum of $300,000 per year, dependent on experience, education, bar admissions, and overall qualifications. The firm offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
