Hiring Range: $4,367‑$4,585/month.
This is a full‑time, benefited, non‑exempt, 12‑month pay‑plan permanent position with a one‑year probationary period in the Department.

Position Summary: The GSAC Operations Coordinator oversees the daily facility operations of the Student Union to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well‑maintained environment that fosters student engagement and community connection. The focus is on operational management and service delivery of the GSAC facility, not direct event programming. The Coordinator leads the GSAC student operations team, manages opening and closing procedures, coordinates with campus service partners, supports facility maintenance and safety initiatives, and implements operational practices that promote exceptional customer service and efficient facility use.
Key Responsibilities30% – Lead operations and daily services of the GSAC
- Oversee daily operations and readiness of all GSAC public spaces, including the Lumberjack Lounge, Gaming Lounge, South Lounge, Karshner Lounge, Arcade, Commuter Kitchen, Kate Buchanan Room, University Quad, and balcony areas.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures and address daily operational needs to ensure all spaces are clean, functional, and ready for use.
- Identify and report maintenance, custodial, and AV needs; submit and track work orders via Facilities Link and IT Help Desk.
- Coordinate with Facilities Management and IT for building maintenance, AV system functionality, and custodial support to maintain building functionality, cleanliness, and safety.
- Maintain equipment, key, and inventory records; recommend purchases, repairs, and replacements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and emergency procedures; maintain safety supplies and support related staff training.
- Monitor building use and occupancy trends; prepare reports and recommend operational adjustments.
- Oversee arcade and gaming lounge operations, including equipment maintenance, repairs, replacements, and enhancements based on student feedback.
- Serve as liaison with campus vendors (e.g., Bigfoot Burgers, The Depot, Campus Store) regarding building hours and operations.
- Provide backup coverage for the After‑Hours Lead Coordinator during absences to ensure evening and weekend operational continuity.
- Maintain communication and coordination with the Associate Director of GSAC for recommended operational adjustments and necessary maintenance.
- Coordinate scheduling, setup, and logistics for GSAC facility use, mainly the Kate Buchanan Room.
- Collaborate with Conference & Event Services (CES), campus partners, and event planners to review requests, layouts, service needs, and applicable fees.
- Lead and assist student and intermittent hourly staff with event setup and takedown, ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and readiness.
- Support logistical, technical, and AV needs for meetings and events; liaise with IT or other campus resources as needed.
- Serve as on‑site host and primary contact for GSAC facility users, exercising independent judgment to resolve issues during events.
- Liaise with Facilities Management, University Police Department, and campus partners regarding safety, access, maintenance, and operational adjustments.
- Provide occasional event setup support for CES‑managed campus events as needed.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and provide lead oversight to GSAC student assistants and intermittent hourly staff.
- Provide daily lead direction, mentorship, and coaching to student assistants and hourly, non‑student staffing in the daily operations of GSAC.
