The San Diego County Sheriff s Office is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as the Sheriff s Property & Evidence Manager.
This position oversees the daily operations and strategic direction of the Sheriff s Property & Evidence Unit, which plays a critical role in supporting law enforcement investigations, judicial proceedings, and public accountability. The Manager ensures compliance with legal standards, chain-of-custody protocols, and departmental policies, while fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and operational excellence.
This position manages four specialized sections:
- Central Evidence Processing
- Warehouse Receiving
- Warehouse Disposition
- Property Investigations
This position is responsible for:
- Supervising and mentoring personnel across multiple operational areas
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance, security, and accountability
- Managing resources strategically to support operational efficiency and integrity

Minimum QualificationsQualifying education/experience:
Three (3) years of experience performing property investigations or evidence custodial work preferably in a law enforcement setting. Experience must have included the supervision of subordinate staff.
Note:
One (1) year of the above-mentioned experience may be substituted by the possession of an associate s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in criminal justice or related field.
