Our client, a leading equipment distributor specializing in power generation and heavy equipment solutions
, is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead their Power Systems division in Central California.

This role oversees a skilled team of technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing critical engines, generators, and related equipment used in essential operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong technical expertise, business acumen, and a commitment to providing exceptional service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the Power Systems service department, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and profitability.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of service technicians and support staff.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor work orders to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer service needs, providing cost estimates, timelines, and updates.
  • Analyze and resolve complex service issues, offering technical guidance to the team.
  • Oversee department budgets, financial performance, and invoicing accuracy.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver seamless support and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • 7–10 years of experience in heavy equipment
    , power generation
    , or a related mechanical service environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams within a service or technical operation.
  • Strong understanding of diesel and natural gas engines
    , generators, and power systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and service management software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical or technical discipline preferred (or equivalent experience).
