Overview

Under general direction, the Development Manager directs, manages, supervises, and coordinates economic and community development activities and projects, assisting internal and external customers and organizations, including serving as primary point of contact for development activities and projects, and coordinating activities and projects with County departments and outside agencies.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of paid full-time experience performing city, county or regional land use planning or project management; economic development; redevelopment; business development; private development; district formation; or a closely related field.
  • Additional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on the basis of one (1) year of experience equal to 30 semester units (45 quarter units). The educational requirement is considered to require a minimum of 120 semester units (180 quarter units).
  • If the word “experience” is referenced in the minimum qualifications, it means full-time paid experience unless the minimum qualification states that volunteer experience is acceptable. Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements.
  • If the minimum qualifications include an educational or certificate/license requirement, applicants must submit proof of requirements with the application. Failure to submit proof of requirements may result in disqualification from the examination. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.
