Project Director is responsible for management and overseeing several key project teams throughout the construction process.
- Ensure project teams understand project cost book
- Ensure project teams achieve baseline and maximize profitability within project
- Ensure project teams resolve outstanding financial issues and disputes within 30 days (for example, but not limited to: change orders)
- Assess project risks and opportunities; work with project team to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities. Achieving baseline is the minimum standard
- Ensure project teams develop accurate baseline schedule and is updated on a weekly basis
- Ensure project teams achieve baseline schedule 100% of the time. If baseline schedule is at risk, the Project Director will work with the project team to develop and implement a recovery plan
- Ensure that the project teams are buying out the project per buyout schedule
- Participate in operational goal setting and strategic initiatives and carry out accordingly
- Utilize and support the use of technology within Operations
- This role is responsible for expanding the scope, capability, and capacity of its team members for the role in which they are serving, and for promotion to next level
- Seek opportunities to coach and develop talent within the organization
- Involved in leadership opportunities outside of the organization
- Career path development for direct reports
- Provide routine feedback, goal setting and performance evaluations of direct reports
- Develop and maintain sound relationships internally and externally
- Establish long term, mutually respectful relationships with customers. Customers will use MBG again and will strongly recommend MBG to others
- Develop and maintain strategic client relationships
- Engage in corporate initiatives and events as appropriate
- Balance customer needs with business objectives and profitability goals
- At the end of the job, both the customer and internal team want to work with this manager and project team again
- Ensure that the project teams are following MBG standard safety procedures and protocols
- Maintain Zero lost time incidents
- Ensure that the project teams are following MBG standard quality procedures and protocols
Education and/or
Experience:
Five plus years of Project Management experience; related degree preferred; equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered; experience with Multi-Family and Hospitality projects a plus.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret all construction related documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understanding of financial projects, a must.
Reasoning Ability
:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
