Manufacturing Production, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Location: South West City
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate and monitor digesters
- Control input of materials into digesters
- Monitor equipment, gauges, and charts related to digester performance (temperature, PH, biogas, etc.)
- Perform light maintenance and adjustment tasks on digester equipment
- Troubleshoot and address operational issues
- Adjust production machines to ensure efficiency, quality, and accuracy with minimal loss of product
- Daily set‑up and operation of production machines and operating machines to production standards
- Maintain accurate inventory of supplies needed to operate the machine
- Document product specs and complete daily reports
- Operate forklift (requires forklift license)
- Coordinate with other personnel to ensure compliance with specifications
Participates as a member of the Team. Participate in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T. practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues, e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger Organization.

Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Physical Activities- Work in a wet, noisy, dusty, humid, hot or cold environment
- Walk and stand on feet for more than 10 hours per shift
- Climb stairs / fixed and vertical ladders occasionally (requires upper body and arm strength)
- Bend, kneel, push, and pull occasionally
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally (use hand tools and shovel frequently)
- Identify and use PPE in accordance with SDS sheets
- Pass a fit test, physical exam, and pulmonary function test (lung capacity) and serve on Hazardous response team

Technical ExperienceIndustrial control and multiple heavy equipment experience skills preferred.
Industry ExperienceExperience in wastewater treatment or anaerobic digestion is often preferred.
