At this time, we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Machinist to join our Amer Cable Maintenance Team. This team is committed to the maintenance of the facilities and operations.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the required dimensions and tolerances of machined parts
• Collaborate closely with machine repair teams to optimize the efficient production of essential machined parts, utilizing manual machining tools for timely machine repairs
• Perform routine maintenance on manual machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges to verify dimensions
• Responsible for maintaining an organized and up-to-date inventory of specially machined parts essential for machine repair
• Perform tip and die repair of production tooling as needed
• Responsible for the installation and support of all capital projects as deemed necessary
• Support other Plant Engineering department activities

• Adhere to all Amer Cable’s Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices
• Follows and abides by Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards

• High school diploma or GED
• Must have formal training or apprenticeship in machining
• Must have proven experience operating manual machine tools in a manufacturing or machining environment
• Must be proficient in TIG, MIG and ARC welding
• Must be able to obtain state boiler license
• Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, both verbally and in writing
• Good reading comprehension
• Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays
• Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
• Required to work at heights above ground level
• Must be able to operate a forklift

• Must be able to physically move material, possibly up to 50lbs
