Senior CNC Programmer / Machinist – 5‑Axis

My client, a cutting‑edge space infrastructure startup, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to program, set up, and run advanced 5‑axis machines. You will machine complex aerospace components to ultra‑tight tolerances alongside engineers building next‑generation space hardware.

• Program, set up, and operate 5‑axis CNC mills.
• Machine aerospace components to ultra tight tolerances.
• Own the full machining process from print to part: CAM programming, fixturing, setup, operation, and inspection.
• Machine a variety of materials, including stainless steel, Inconel, PEEK and carbon composites.
• Create and apply custom fixturing and work holding solutions for prototype builds.
• Develop efficient toolpaths using Mastercam or similar CAM software; incorporate probing and macros to streamline setups.
• Collaborate with engineering to provide DFM feedback and improve part manufacturability.
• Support process documentation and contribute to standardizing best practices.

• 5‑10+ years of hands‑on experience setting up, programming, and operating 5‑axis CNC mills to machine complex aerospace parts.
• Strong Mastercam expertise (3+2 and full 5‑axis).
• Solid understanding of CNC code and shop floor programming edits.
• Experience with exotic metals, GD&T, and inspection tools.
• Driven by the challenge and impact of a mission‑driven startup, with a desire to mentor others.
