Diamond Certified is hiring a Research Reporter whose defining skill is getting the story. This role is just above entry level, but it is not junior in impact. You’ll be responsible for securing interviews with busy Diamond Certified company owners; drawing out their helpful expertise; and turning those conversations into clear, credible, compelling, trustworthy stories.
If you’re great at getting people to take your call, show up to appointments and share what truly makes them experts, this role is for you.
This is not a scripted or passive reporting role. You are expected to pursue interviews, adapt when things stall and follow through until the story is complete.
What You’ll Do- Schedule and conduct phone interviews with Diamond Certified company owners or decision-makers
- Write clear, accurate, engaging company stories and research summaries
- Secure photos and supporting materials
- Navigate obstacles when interviews or assets stall
- Meet consistent production deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Use LLMs and research tools to support reporting, synthesis, and clarity
- Bachelor’s degree in English or Communications
- You’ve conducted numerous interviews and written dozens of stories
- Strong ability to meet deadlines without hand-holding
- Comfortable conducting and recording phone interviews
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with LLMs or similar AI tools
- Go-getter mentality—you get people to talk, engage and follow through
- Naturally persuasive without being pushy
- Sharp at prompting and asking the right follow-up questions
Creative problem-solver when faced with resistance or delays - Direct, polite and confident communicator
- Comfortable switching between research, interviewing, writing and outreach
- You’re uncomfortable with live or follow-up interviews
- You need to rely on scripts or require constant direction
- You’re exploring reporting as a side interest or career pivot
- You feel that deadlines are flexible
If you’re energized by chasing down stories, earning trust and turning information into something that people actually want to read, we want to hear from you.
